The SLi Mission

The mission of Student Leadership Institute is to assist young people in the development of their leadership philosophy and skills by exposing them to a biblically based practical, multifaceted, year long program. SLi trains students on key characteristics of Jesus’ leadership and requires students to be actively involved in a variety of areas including service, evangelism, and church activities. In SLi students are trained in specific leadership skills and theory. Finally, students are encouraged to apply their knowledge and practice their leadership potential by serving their school, family, community, and church.

Application Process

Upon receipt of a complete application, the recommendation form, and the signed parent statement of support, an interview will be conducted.

Required Reading

SLi students must read at least one book and write a review of that book using the approved form to be able to move from Level I to Level II and Level II into Level III. The selections on this list are “pre-approved,” but a student may also fill out a form requesting that another book be approved. The primary emphasis of these books is to encourage critical thinking on various issues as well as to encourage young people to prepare themselves to make a difference in the world for Christ. Please read a selection critically and wrestle with the issues and themes presented.
