Elementary

The educational platform for our elementary school draws upon many recognized frameworks for student achievement. We offer students an outstanding balance of traditional and innovative educational opportunities within the context of a Biblical worldview. Students compete and consistently achieve in annual events such as ACSI Spelling Bee, ACSI Math Olympics, ACSI Creative Writing Competition, ACSI Art Competition, local art festivals, and ACSI Choral Festival.

Students receive strong core subject curriculum that also teaches skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and communication. Weekly enrichment classes in computer, art, music, Spanish and library are provided with an emphasis on a well-rounded education. Physical Education classes are offered three times per week within a structured curriculum and students participate in the Presidential Fitness Program and Elementary Field Day annually. A select group of students also train for a spring Elementary Track Meet at the National Training Center in Clermont.

An Elementary Honors Program is available for qualifying students in second through fifth grades. This program offers more technology integration and project learning experiences that encourage team collaboration and cooperation. We use the advanced technology of Accelerated Reader by Renaissance Learning to make reading practice more effective for everyone, personalize reading practice for each student, manage reading activities, monitor and assess student reading abilities, and build a lifelong love of reading and learning. To define overall student performance in comparison to national norms, we annually administer the Stanford 10 Achievement Tests to all students.

Elementary students attend Chapel each Wednesday to enjoy interactive worship music and invigorating teaching from Pastor Will. This year the elementary school launched The Great Relationship Experience by Dr. Gary and Barb Rosberg to offer students, teachers and parents constructive resources to build stronger godly relationships. Each month one Key to Godly Relationships is taught and emphasized both at school and in the home.

Educational field trips, special grade level/school wide activities and mission projects are offered throughout the school year. Morning care and after-school care are optional.
