FA Travels to DR

DR1FA sent a team of fourteen high school students and four adults to the Dominican Republic last week! While there, our team partnered with New Missions in painting a school, teaching stories in the Bible through skits and crafts, and singing songs in Spanish.

A highlight of the trip included visiting the village of Redemption where a few of our students shared their life testimony during the English classes at New Life High School. FA students also had the opportunity to experience an Independence Day parade, which included thousands gathered in the streets to celebrate. DR2

But perhaps the greatest experience was the worship services–both English and Spanish–that our group attended. “The most profound awareness came to our team during these times of worship,” explained Keith Yarborough, a leader on the trip and teacher at FA. “Everyone smiles and loves in the same language. God doesn’t have a preferential cultural way to worship Him–He desires hearts turned toward Him. And He certainly touched our hearts as we served and worshiped alongside the Believers in the Dominican Republic.”

DR3FA is so grateful to New Missions for this opportunity to serve with them, and we continue to pray for our friends in the Dominican Republic!
