See You at the Pole 2017
This morning at our Upper School students gathered to pray and take part of See You at the Pole (SYATP). This nationally-coordinated day of student prayer started in 1990 with only a handful of students. Now, twenty years later, millions pray at their schools in September on the fourth Wednesday of the month. This year, that date fell on September 27th and many of our students gathered bright and early to join in prayer with students across our country and beyond.
“It’s an amazing time for students to seek God’s face with everything happening in our world right now,” Director of Education Carol Grosshans said of SYATP. And the students agreed! “I think it’s cool to be part of nationwide event and see the impact it has locally,” said SGA President Alexis B. Connor C said, “I think it’s a good thing for our school and country to do.” And another student, Susannah C, described the morning of prayer together as “heartwarming.”
It truly was a beautiful time, full of worship and prayer as a school family. We know that other schools across our nation and beyond are also gathering to pray this morning, and we consider it an honor to join our prayers with theirs. We’ll “See You at the Pole” next year on September 26th!
