Pastor Appreciation Breakfast
On Wednesday, October 25th we held our annual Pastor Appreciation Breakfast at the Lower School! Students had the chance to invite their pastors to Foundation for a delicious breakfast and Chapel time together. “We just want to love on our community pastors,” said Principal Angel Whitehead about the annual tradition. “It really fulfills our mission statement of partnering with families and the church. These pastors are our families’ pastors–they are a part of the Foundation family.”
And it was indeed a family gathering around tables as pastors ate and talked together. Pastor James Monroe of New Journey Christian Church in Winter Garden enjoyed the chance to meet with other pastors. “Iron sharpens iron,” he said. “It’s encouraging to be here with other pastors and see what’s going on in their part of the world.” And Pastor Barton Buchanan of Windermere Union Church, United Church of Christ shared about the joy of being invited by FA student Trinity S. “When I shared I was coming Trinity was very excited, which was very endearing.”
After breakfast, pastors joined students in the sanctuary for a Chapel filled with appreciation and gratitude for pastors and all they give to our community. (Click here to read more about our Chapel time!) We ended Chapel with a special pastor appreciation video, featuring FA students speaking about–and thanking!–their pastors.
Thank you to all the pastors who came and spent the morning with our school family. This continues to be one of our favorite FA traditions!
