7th Grade Basketball

On Saturday, December 2nd our 7th Grade Boys Basketball team opened up their season with a double header played at The First Academy! Their first game was against Lake Mary Prep and the second was against Orangewood Christian. Our Lions represented Foundation well!

“Our first game was a nail biter–up by one point with four seconds to go on the clock,” said Head Coach Deborah Pennick. “We started out the game very slow, getting down by as many as eleven points at one time. These young men are far from being quitters, and with four seconds to go in the game we found ourselves up by a point.” Our Lions ultimately lost the game by one point, with a final score of 23 to 24, but played hard!

“The second game of the day we opened up with an 8 to 0 score in the first six minutes,” explained Coach Pennick. “We hit a slump and found ourselves in a real nail biter for a second time in one day. We went scoreless during the third quarter, and in the last quarter we made them turn the ball over four times.” The team had a strong defensive serge led by Brady L and teammates Owen C, Lucas G, Joel A, Sam Z, and Tyler W. Our Lions showed exemplary team work and won their second game by three points with a final scored of 27 to 24!

The team plays again this Saturday, December 9th at 12:00pm and 3:00pm at The First Academy. Go, Lions!!
