National Signing Day 2018
All across the country, high school seniors are signing National Letters of Intent to play collegiate sports today, February 7th, as part of the National Signing Day. Here at FA, we recognized seniors and football players Lance Axson and Kenny Ames! Lance actually took part of the Early Signing Period earlier in the school year and made his commitment on December 20th to play at Campbell University. Kenny signed his Letter of Intent today and will play for Notre Dame College of Ohio. Congratulations to both Lance and Kenny!
So many coaches, teachers, family members, teammates, and friends have partnered with these Lions to help them achieve this prestigious goal. And we loved celebrating both athletes today as a school family. “I’d like to thank the Lord my God for providing me with the talents and putting me in a family that has been so loving and caring,” said Kenny, to everyone gathered. Lance also took a moment to thank those who’ve helped him along his journey. “I would like to truly thank God for putting me in this position to continue my educational and athletic career at the college level,” Lance said.
After recognizing these exceptional football players, we also honored our Competitive Cheer team and our Varsity Boys Soccer team. Our cheerleaders placed third in the FCC Nationals, and also placed in the top ten at the FHSAA State Championships. Well done, Lady Lions! And our Varsity Boys Soccer team are District Champions who will be playing in the 7th Regional Quarter Final tonight. We’re rooting for you, Lions!
All in all, it was an incredible morning to celebrate the many talented athletes we have here at Foundation Academy. We look forward to many more such celebrations as a school family in the future! Check out pictures of our signing today and also Lance’s signing from December in case you missed it!
