Art Teacher Honored by American Legion

Congratulations to Adriana Uhlman on receiving the Teacher of the Year Award from the American Legion Post 63! The Legion presented this prestigious award to Mrs. Uhlman on Thursday, March 8th during a special ceremony. Specifically, this honor recognizes “outstanding service and assistance which contributed to the advancement of The American Legion programs and activities dedicated to God and Country.”

Mrs. Uhlman has taught art to FA students in 3rd through 12th grade since August of 2015. Before that, she gained ten years of experience as an art teacher in different schools in the community. Mrs. Uhlman is a vital part of the FA teaching team that has developed one of the most successful and sought-after art programs in the greater Orlando area. For the last several years, FA art students have won numerous international, national, and local awards–including eight executive years of ACSI Best of Show, First Place in the Central Florida Education Guide, First Place in the Winter Garden Sidewalk Chalk Contest, Second Place in the Winter Park Art Festival, and many more.

Year after year, Mrs. Uhlman continues to inspire her students to reach for creative excellence in every piece and to instill in them a love for their God-given creative abilities. We are so proud to call Mrs. Uhlman a Lion and look forward to the bright future of the FA Fine Arts Department!
