Math Club Participates in the AMC 12

Twelve of the Math Club students participated in the American Mathematics Contest (AMC 12) which is held nation wide by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA).
The MAA is the world’s largest community of mathematicians, students, and enthusiasts.  They further the understanding of our world through mathematics because mathematics drives society and shapes our lives.  The mission of the MAA is to advance the understanding of mathematics and its impact on our world.
The AMC 12 is a 25 question, 75 minute, multiple-choice exam in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem solving skills.  The exam covers the entire high school curriculum including trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry, but excludes calculus.  The AMC 12 is the first in a series of competitions that eventually lead all the way to the International Mathematical Olympiad (for those who qualify).
