After much prayer, Brad Lord has made the decision to step aside as Foundation Academy’s head Football Coach. Brad will not be leaving, but will be moving into his new role as the Football Operations & Athletic Collegiate Placement Director. Instead of standing on the sideline, Brad will be in the stands with his wife Amy, watching his son Brady, play his last two years of HS football.
Brad started at FA with a fledgling program in 2008 and has built a winning culture and has made FA a small school power house football program in Central Florida. He has enjoyed multiple play-off appearances, has been named Coach of the Year multiple times by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association, as well as, finishing his head coaching career as Regional Champions. In addition to his on the field accomplishments, he has assisted in placing multiple players on to the next level and has enjoyed watching them represent FA as they compete. He has the ability to assess the football athleticism of each individual player and has given them the opportunity to pursue and play at the level where they would find their most success.
Coach Lord’s new role will be to mentor our new head coach, oversee the football program, and use his college recruitment expertise to assist the entire FA Athletic program by providing athletes the opportunity to play on the collegiate level.
It is the extreme pleasure of Foundation Academy that we announce our new Head Football Coach…Andre Walker. Andre has been a part of the FA program since 2015. During his time at FA, he has been both the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach. He has been critical to the winning atmosphere and success of the FA football program. Andre will take the reins as Head Football Coach effective immediately.
Andre brings years of football experience from playing at Lakeland High School. There he and his team won two state championships under the leadership of the legendary Bill Castle. In addition, he played college football at Georgia Military College where he says he learned a lot about discipline and commitment. After graduating from USF, Andre went on to coach three years at Lakeland High School as the defensive back coach, before starting his career at Foundation Academy. In 2017, Coach Walker was the headliner speaker at the Nike Coaching Clinic.
Brad Lord states, “Andre is the perfect fit for the job, his commitment to our football program and to our athletes over the years is one of the major reasons we have experienced the success that we have. He has the trust of our parent base and athletes. He is loved and respected. I have no doubt that he will continue to drive the program to greater heights.”
Coach Walker said he is “excited for the opportunity to continue to mentor and build character of the players. To keep them committed to something bigger than themselves.” Coach Lord and I always strived to build a championship program. That is the next level and we are right at the door of that.Aside from the kids, the big thing for me is the opportunity to continue to grow. I feel like there isn’t a ceiling anymore, I can reach further heights by this opportunity given to me by Coach Lord and the Foundation Academy administration.”
There are exciting times for the future of Foundation Academy Athletics.
