Foundation Academy Students, Families, Faculty and Staff showed up big for the 2nd annual Patti and Patsy 5K run against cancer, reminding everyone how much of a family Foundation Academy is. This year’s recipient of the proceeds is Ken Norat, husband of middle school teacher, Dawn Norat and father to 8th grade student Kam. Mr. Norat is battling bone cancer for the 5th time.
It was inspiring to see the huge outpouring of support for this cause and the Norat family. The race, sponsored by the Foundation Academy National Honor Society and Art Honor Society, not only gave support, but also honored cancer survivors within the Foundation family. Survivors were given a special gift and invited to do a special survivor lap just prior to the 5K start.
Race participants, many wearing pink, walked, ran, skipped and made their way around the newly installed 5K course on Foundation Academy’s south campus. It was an incredibly inspiring time. Many thanks to sponsors for providing food and drink to all the runners: Flippers Pizza provided pizza, Conley Citrus provided oranges, and the Griffiths family provided waters.
Medals were awarded to the top finishers in a student category and adult category. Student winners were: 1st – Jay Garver, 2nd – Elishua Colon, 3rd – Han Lin. Adult winners were: 1st – David Bohner, 2nd – Jim Campbell, 3rd – Tracy Bilski.
