Rachel Carey is from Jacksonville, Florida. She received a B.S. in Psychology and a Master’s of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Florida. She is also the Program Director of the Foundation Academy cheerleading program and one of the coaches for the Varsity sideline and competition cheerleading teams. Rachel teaches 1st grade at our Plant Street Campus. She is also the Assistant Director for the Drama Club. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and traveling to ice rinks to watch her boys play ice hockey. Rachel’s favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 16:9. Her major influence was Dr. Shelley Warm, her graduate professor at the UF. She was a champion of providing quality education to all students. Her passion for education was inspiring. She is continually working at developing and fostering the next generation of educators that will shape the field of education for years to come.
