Foundation Academy Alums Making Waves in the NFL

At Foundation Academy, we take immense pride in the achievements of our students, and it is thrilling to see so many of our alumni making an impact at the highest levels of sports, especially in the NFL. Three exceptional Foundation Academy graduates—Kia Cannon, Chai Colon, and Danny Stutsman—are currently making strides in the professional football world, and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.

Kia Cannon: Rising Star in Communications

Kia Cannon, a 2019 graduate of Foundation Academy, is making a name for herself in the communications world. Since July 2024, she has been working as a Communications Intern for the Denver Broncos. Kia’s journey in sports communications started long before landing this impressive role. Prior to joining the Broncos, she honed her skills as a communications intern for both the University of South Florida’s athletic department and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kia earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Florida A&M University, and she went on to pursue a master’s degree in Communications/Media Studies from the University of South Florida. Her passion for sports communications has opened doors at some of the most recognized organizations in the industry, and we are excited to see where her career takes her next.

We are so proud of Kia and look forward to seeing her continued success with the Denver Broncos. We wish her nothing but the best as she continues to make an impact in the world of sports media!

Chai Colon: A Football Operations Rising Star

Chai Colon, another Foundation Academy alum, is currently making a significant mark with the Kansas City Chiefs. Since February 2025, he has worked as a Football Operations Seasonal Intern with the Chiefs, following a summer internship in 2024 as a Football Operations Training Camp Intern for the same team.

Chai’s journey to the NFL started with a strong academic and athletic foundation at the University of Central Florida (UCF). He earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science and was also a student manager for UCF’s football team. After graduation, Chai returned to Foundation Academy to serve as the Varsity Football Passing Game Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach, where he passed on his valuable football knowledge to the next generation of players.

We are beyond proud of Chai’s growth and his current role with the Kansas City Chiefs. His dedication to football operations and his commitment to excellence make him an asset to the team. We wish him all the best as he continues his journey with the Chiefs and beyond!

Danny Stutsman: A Future NFL Star

Danny Stutsman, a 2020 graduate of Foundation Academy, is making waves as a standout linebacker for the University of Oklahoma. During his time at Oklahoma, Danny became a force to be reckoned with on the field, starting in 37 games and accumulating 376 tackles, 40 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, 3 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 8 pass breakups. His career stats have earned him a spot in Oklahoma’s history, ranking 9th in school history with his 376 tackles.

Danny recently competed in the 2025 NFL Draft Combine, where he impressed scouts with a 4.52 40-yard dash time and a vertical jump of 34 inches. His performance at the combine solidified his status as one of the top linebacker prospects, with many projecting him to be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. Scouts have praised Danny for his athleticism, leadership, and ability to perform under pressure, and they believe he will be a future NFL starter.

We can’t wait to see where Danny gets drafted, and we are confident he will continue to glorify God both on and off the field throughout his NFL career. Foundation Academy is incredibly proud of Danny, and we know that he will continue to inspire others with his talent, character, and work ethic.

A Bright Future for Foundation Academy Alumni

The achievements of Kia Cannon, Chai Colon, and Danny Stutsman are a testament to the strong foundation laid by Foundation Academy. These individuals have worked tirelessly to chase their dreams, and their successes serve as an inspiration to all current and future students. As they continue to make their mark in the NFL and beyond, we couldn’t be more excited to cheer them on every step of the way.

We are so proud of all our alumni who have gone on to achieve great things in their respective careers, and we look forward to seeing even more of our Foundation Academy graduates take the sports world by storm in the years to come. Go Lions!
