The rain didn’t dampen the spirit for homecoming week at Foundation Academy. It was a terrific spirit week capped off by a great football game and dance.
Spirit Week included days like Marvel Monday, Tropical Tuesday and Disney Day. The classes earned points for the number of students dressed for the spirit day, a special game each day and pep rally participation. The class of 2016 captured the spirit stick for high school and the 6th graders for middle school. A special pep rally was also held for the elementary students at their campus as well so they could get in the homecoming spirit.
A tailgate party preceded the game and the new Lions Marching Band performed the national anthem and provided entertainment throughout. At halftime, the homecoming court was introduced amidst a light sprinkle of rain. Mr. D’angelo Byer and Miss Megan Miller were crowned king and queen. The full court representatives included: 12th grade: Brooke Lynn Siracusano, Cameron Currie, Brooke DeGraide, D’angelo Byer, Alexis Collins, Chad Steiner, Ben Griffith, Megan Miller; 11th grade: Nate Shuler and Elyssa Stimmell; 10th grade: Evan Fitzgibbon and Victoria Varley; 9th grade: Kenny Ames and Sophia Murray.
The varsity Lions football team pulled out a win in front of the huge home crowd to make the night complete, beating Orangewood Christian 21-0. The homecoming dance, themed ‘Sunset in Morocco’ was a fun-filled night of music, dancing, laughing and great memories.
