Foundation Academy opened the doors this school year well prepared and with a flexible mindset needed during this challenging time. While our Tilden Campus moved temporarily to remote learning for the week of September 21, here are some helpful tips to make remote learning as productive as possible:
01. Create an Area Dedicated to Studying.
Whether you’re at the kitchen table or a desk, it is important to make sure that you have enough space for your laptop and notebooks. It is also important to make sure the area you designated for studying is comfortable. But, you want to make sure that you’re not too comfortable. While studying and doing remote learning from your bed may seem like a great idea, it’s important for your brain to learn in a place other than where you sleep.
02. Get Dressed for School.
While it may be nice to stay in your pajamas all day, it is beneficial to get dressed and ready for the day like you usually would if you were heading into school. This will help you feel more alert and present while keeping your routine.
03. Actively Engage.
Engaging online may seem intimidating, but it is important when distance learning. Act as though you are in a regular classroom and try and participate as much as possible!
04. Ask for Assistance.
Remote Learning can be tricky since you are not face-to-face with your teachers, but it is your responsibility to get the most out of it and ask for help or clarification when needed. Your teachers are here to help you succeed!
05. Try to Stay Positive.
Although this is not the ideal situation for learning, it is essential to keep you healthy and safe. Know that your teachers are working hard and are here to help you — even from a distance.
