Visual Arts Lower

Lower School (K-6)

The Foundation Academy Lower School Visual Arts Program places focus on students exploring and creating art using the elements of art and principles of design. Students learn how to use and combine the elements of art and principles of design to create unique works of art using the creative process. The Lower School Visual Arts also focus on studying the Master artists in various fields and many times student work is inspired by these artists. Students learn, experiment, and develop skills to create works of art using a variety of mediums. These include drawing, sketching, painting with watercolor, tempera, oil pastel, chalk pastels as well as three-dimensional works such as origami, working with clay, and paper sculpture.

Upper School (7-12)

Foundation Academy’s Visual Art Program gives students the opportunity to explore various art mediums while applying the Elements of Art and Principals of Design. Students will work in a studio environment creating artwork in 2D and 3D forms. Students will work with various art mediums such as paint, drawing materials, sculpture, oil pastel, and colored pencils. Students’ artwork has been displayed in the community and has received awards that include The Windermere Fine Arts Show as well as other contests and programs. Students will learn to use art terms and critique their fellow students’ artwork.

Program Highlights

Students will work with various art mediums such as paint, drawing materials, sculpture, oil pastel, and colored pencils.

Student’s artwork has been displayed in the community and have received awards that include The Windermere Fine Arts Show as well as other contests and programs.

Students will learn to use art terms and critique their fellow student’s artwork.

National Art Honor Society (NAHS)

The National Art Honor Society was established in 1978 in the United States by the National Art Education Association for high school students grades 9-12 from the National Art Honor Society.

Invited by the mayor of Winter Garden to have an exclusive Art Show at City Hall – the second year in a row

Selected for an exclusive art show at the Dr. Phillips Center during the performance of The Little Mermaid, 2017

Acceptance to Top Art & Design Colleges

Foundation Academy Art Students have been accepted to such highly regarded institutions as Ringling College of Art and Design Savannah College of Art and Design AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts and The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
