Athletes at the Next Level
Each year Foundation Academy celebrates the students who realize their dream to play their sport at the collegiate level.
Class of 2016
Elyssa Stimmell graduated from Foundation in 2016. She was the volleyball captain at FA and had the honors of first team All District and Team MVP. Elyssa is continuing her volleyball career at Nova Southeastern. You can learn more about Elyssa by clicking here!
Gabe Walker graduated from Foundation in 2016. While at FA, he rushed for 3,000 yards and made the All State and All County football teams. He also led the Lions last season to the Regional Championship. Now, he made the varsity roster for The Citadel and is working with the first unit. To follow Gabe’s career, click here!
Class of 2015
Stevanna Ames – Stevanna started on the Varsity Softball Team since 6th Grade. She holds numerous softball records at FA and was team captain from 2013 – 2015. She also on the first team 2A All-State Team in 2014 and 2015. She was on the second team in 2013. Currently she plays shortstop for Seminole State College.
Conrad Brown – Conrad was a first team, all-district wide receiver. He will be attending Garden City Community College in Kansas on a full football scholarship. Garden City is a Top 5 ranked football JUCO in the country. Nick Marshall, the quarterback who led Auburn to the National Championship, came out of Garden City. Conrad is an outstanding receiver and we look to see him in a power conference in the future.
Anthony Bridges – Anthony has been a two-year starter for Foundation Academy. He will be attending Ave Maria University next fall. The Ave Maria defensive coordinator sees Anthony as an outside linebacker in their 3-4 scheme. Anthony was named to the second team all-district team at Mike LB.
Ari Fonseca, a 2015 FA graduate, had two back-to-back runner-up finishes at the 2014 and 2015 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship. She now plays golf for the University of Kansas and was recently named a Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar. You can read more about Ari’s career at KU by clicking here!
Darius Irvin will be attending North Carolina Charlotte on a full football scholarship. Darius was selected to the 2A all- state team for the 2014 and 2014 season at linebacker. Irvin was also selected to the first team on both the 2014 Florida Athletic Coaches Association and 2A district 4 all- district team for his play at linebacker. Darius was number 54 on the Orlando sentinels 2014 super 60 profiling the top 60 football players in Central Florida. His versatility led the Lions to the playoffs twice. He has been a three year starter for the Lions.
Quinlan Marshall has been a five year starter at Foundation Academy. He will be attending Fort Scott Community College on a full football scholarship for the 2015 season. Quinlan, along with teammate Colby Adamson joined Scotty Brazell as a first team All- State football player. Marshall 6-5 295 lbs was named to the first team Florida Athletic Coaches Association at Offensive tackle. For two years in a row Quinlan has made the 2A all- district team on both Offense and Defense. He is a very powerful player and dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
Megan Miller was a five-year starter in volleyball at Foundation Academy. While at FA, she lead the team in aces and assists. Megan was an all-around player who was very successful at multiple positions on the court. She was the team captain for two years and led our team to the State Championship Finals in 2013 and 2014. Her leadership showed on and off the court. During her senior year she signed to play for Daytona State College, with a full scholarship. She is the starting setter and leads the team in assists. Megan is currently enrolled in the honors college at Daytona State College. After completing her two years she is looking to continue her education in Florida on another volleyball scholarship.
Kiande Phillips will be playing football for Hobart University next season. Kiande is a first year player at Foundation. His lightning speed and great hands made him a valuable asset. Phillips made a huge interception securing the victory versus Trinity Prep. Kiande made the second team 2A- District 4 team at Wide Receiver. Hobart looks to use Kiande’s speed at cover corner.
Class of 2014
Nick Byrd signed with Southeastern University, whose inaugural football season kicks off in 2014. Nick was an important part of the Lions offense.
Noel Gusler showed his versatility on the football field for Foundation and is headed to Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa to play for the chargers.
BreAnna Holder signed with Ave Maria University to play volleyball after helping lead Foundation to back-to-back appearances in the Class 2A state championship.
Denzel Irvin signed with UNC Charlotte for football. Irvin was an all-state defensive back with Foundation Academy.
Dan Richard will play baseball for Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville.
Alec Thompson is continuing his football career at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Alec is a 2-time All-District quarterback who passed for 3,315 yards and 29 touchdowns and ran for 1,023 yards and 14 scores in 2 seasons at Foundation.
